Amber Peters loves to teach voice, direct choirs, and sing! She currently teaches voice lessons after school at Southlands Christian High School. She directs the choir at the Church at Green Hills in La Habra. Amber is a jazz soloist with two big bands, West Coast Big Band and Jazz 4 Jesus.
Amber has a Master of Music degree in Performance from California Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Cal State Fullerton. For just under ten years she was an adjunct professor of voice at Cal Baptist. Amber has performed opera roles and scenes with local companies, been hired as a concert soloist by organizations around L.A., and performed leading roles in musical theatre and operetta in the Inland Empire. She was a member of the Gary Bonner Singers for ten years.
For thirteen years, Amber was a student and protégée of beloved teacher Betty Olsson. Amber traveled with her as a personal/teaching assistant and served as assistant director to her opera scenes and group recitals at CBU. Amber is now working on several legacy projects with original teaching materials that Betty created. After Betty’s passing at the age of 90 a few years ago, Amber craved community with other voice teachers and decided to join the L.A. chapter of NATS. It’s great to be part of this tribe!
