Dear NATS Members:
I am writing to share an opportunity for your students to apply and audition for this summer: ArtsBridge Summer ArtSong, a 2-week audition prep-focused summer program at which I will be teaching. The ArtsBridge website has detailed course descriptions and a sample schedule so that students can see more about what to expect, and the program video that profiles our students and faculty is informative as well.ArtsBridge Summer ArtSong will take place at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis from July 28 — August 12, 2018 and is the perfect opportunity for aspiring voice majors to spend two weeks with top college and conservatory voice faculty from major schools across the country:
ArtSong faculty include:
- Patty Thom (Artistic Director), Boston Conservatory at Berklee
- Salvatore Champagne, Oberlin Conservatory
- Alison d’Amato, Eastman School of Music
- Lynn Helding, University of Southern California Thornton School of Music
- Ralph Zito (acting), Syracuse University
The curriculum is focused on vocal technique, diction and language, song repertoire, acting, and performance and audition skills in addition to guest master classes and workshops on various performance topics and college/conservatory auditions.
I hope you will consider sharing this opportunity with your high school-aged students who are starting on the path to auditioning for college level voice programs.
