ABOUT THE SINGERS

(in alphabetical order)

ISABELLA ADAD - Isabella Adad is a senior Vocal Performance and Worship major at Azusa Pacific University. She grew up singing and performing in theater productions, but took a break after her sophomore year of high school to focus on music. However, Isabella recently had the joy of playing Christine Daaé in her university's production of the Phantom of the Opera, and fell back in love with musical theater.

DANIELLE BARRON - My name is Danielle Barron and I am a singer at Belmont University. I’ve loved music my whole life and was in show choir in high school. I grew up with a musical family and my Mom as my voice teacher! I am always open for improvement on not only my voice but my whole self. I love to learn and grow!

ELORA DANNAN - Elora Dannan is a Chemistry and Music double major at Loyola Marymount University. She is a theatre kid at heart, but enjoys performing classical arias as well as musical theatre songs. She thoroughly enjoyed working on this piece with her accompanist, as it was their first time working together. As a Vocal emphasis student she is an avid member of the Consort Singers, the top choir at LMU. Elora plans to either go on as a professional singer or go to medical school.

JASMINE JARAMILLO (Alternate) - Jasmine Jaramillo is an aspiring singer and actress. With her stage experience, she has played many roles in plays and musicals, from Leaving Home to the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. With extensive studies with Shannon Kauble, Jasmine continues to work on many musical styles and develop her singing technique to accompany her acting. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies at California State University Fullerton to expand her toolkit as a stage performer further.

ELENA MEJICO - Elena Mejico is currently a student in the Masters in Vocal Pedagogy program at the University of Redlands. She has been teaching in the public schools for 15 years and started expanding her private studio three years ago. She has about 15 private students. Elena sings weekly for her church as a soloist.

CHLOE NESS (Alternate) - Chloe Ness is a junior in the Classical Voice Conservatory at the Orange County School of the Arts. She got her start in musical theatre at age 8 when whe was cast as Annie Oakley in a Broadway revue. That same year, she won Long Beach Has Talent singing the Jackson 5 song "Who's Loving You." When she was 9, she started working with Adriana Manfredi, who is her teacher to this day. She has pursued a study of classical voice, musical theatre, pop, and jazz, as well as piano and guitar. Chloe has won first place in Classical Voice, Musical Theater, and Contemporary/ Commercial Music at NATS SEP over the years. During Covid, she also started writing music. Chloe loves sharing her love of music and singing local churches, theatres, and coffe houses around the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.

DANIEL SCIPIO - I began studying music after high school. While it was my first passion, I found myself to be more in love with the musical theater voice versus classical. I changed my major in 2017 to focus on stage musicals and production. I have been lucky enough to play great roles like, Sister Hubert in Nunsense, Audrey 2 in Little Shop of Horrors, Tunny in American Idiot, and Teen Angel in Grease. I love to sing and I will always dedicate time to focus on tuning my instrument. I hope you enjoy what I have prepared for you.

SHANE SELLORIA - Shane Selloria is a 10th grader at Cerritos High School. He has done school musicals and local musicals. He placed 2nd at SEP and placed 3rd at regional last year. Shane loves singing and sleeping during his free time. He also loves hanging out with friends and going out with them. Shane is also a dancer and is in the schools dance team. He can play different musical instruments such as guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums alto and bari sax. He is also a high school varsity in swimming.

TASHYANNA SIMPSON - Tashyanna Samyah Simpson is a 19-year-old sophomore at LaSierra University, majoring in Pre- Medicine and Music Performance; Vocal, under a pupil of Dr. Raejin Lee. She has had the opportunity to travel to South Africa for World Choir Tournament with her choir and come back with one gold and two silver medals. Ms. Tashyanna also had the privilege of singing at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2018 with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christopher Jackson, in honor of the Broadway musical Hamilton. She also sang in a concert in honor of the soprano Mrs. Leontyne Price, singing pieces by composers such as Hall Johnson, Stacy Gibbs, and much more. She performed the role of Rosalinda from Die Fledermaus and will be featured as an Aunt March for La Sierra’s upcoming production, “Little Women.”

JUWAN STANFORD - My name is Juwan Curtis Stanford and I am a singer, percussionist, producer, and aspiring composer. I am studying at Cal Poly Pomona to get my degree in Music Industry Studies and plan to further my education in composition. I've been involved in concert choirs, marching and concert bands since middle school and they have always been a big part of my life. I am newly exploring Musical Theatre but am interested in improving my ability to perform.

JONATHAN JAMES TRIMBLE - Jonathan Trimble is a junior at Whittier College. He has participated in NATS ever since high school, and he recently placed in second the past two years in the NATS-LA chapter. Jonathan is perusing his BA in theatre and music, and would like to thank the Whittier Music Department and Melissa Landis for pushing him to become the best he can be!

TARYN HANA YAMATO - Taryn has been onstage since she was 3 years old. She has participated in NATS competitions for 6 years and has been training in voice and music for 10+ years. She also loves performing in musical theatre and has played roles such as Ella (Rodger & Hammerstein's Cinderella), Annie (Annie), Mayzie (Seussical), Gabriella (High School Musical), and many more. Taryn is a junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School where she dances on the varsity Song team.

Lyndia Johnson, Guest Clinician

Known as “MzLyndia” among singers, Lyndia Johnson has been a singing teacher/vocal coach in the music industry and in colleges and universities around the US for 25 years. From touring with artists to collaborating with producers and label executives, MzLyndia’s abilities to identify vocal talent, assist singers recovering from vocal illnesses and develop singers technically is highly respected.

She has served on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and has been the direct vocal consultant for the GRAMMY Awards. Her relationship with the Recording Academy has been a long recognized and well-respected collaboration.

MzLyndia holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in voice and has advanced studies in vocal anatomy and physiology, vocal acoustics and comparative vocal pedagogy. MzLyndia has presented lectures and written research on the voice for the Pacific Voice/Speech Foundation UCLA Voice Conference, University of Illinois Chicago Hospital of Voice/Speech Therapy Conference, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the Gospel Music Association of America; and is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, National Association of Female Executives in Music and Entertainment and the National Association of Negro Musicians.

In 1995, MzLyndia founded Sterling Voice Coaching, a private vocal development studio which focuses on innovative vocal training for all singing styles and genres. Sterling Voice Coaching’s clientele consist of Pop, Rock, R&B, Gospel and Musical Theater artists.

“I believe the singer’s style does not have to be compromised to achieve great singing results,” MzLyndia said. “I founded Sterling Voice Coaching to provide singers with insightful, innovative vocal instruction that enhances singing, prevents vocal loss, promotes longevity and maintains a wonderful healthy instrument for the singer to enjoy for years.

Daniel Lincoln, Assistant Professor of Practice in Musical Theater, USC Thornton School of Music

Daniel Lincoln, Guest Clinician

Composer, conductor, songwriter/pianist, and vocalist Daniel Lincoln has enjoyed a multifaceted international career that has spanned the realms of opera, musical theatre, and commercial pop music. Daniel has played in the pit for Broadway musicals, conducted & music directed off-Broadway, regional, and touring productions, and is currently music supervising and orchestrating multiple productions in development for Broadway. He has worked for Broadway casting agencies such as Binder Casting, Telsey + Company, and Tara Rubin CSA. Daniel has taught at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and New York Film Academy’s Professional Conservatory of Musical Theatre, and is a panelist/reader/mentor for The Jonathan Larsen Grant and The National Endowment for the Arts Musical Theatre Songwriting Challenge.

As composer & lyricist, Daniel’s original musicals have been produced in New York, London, and regionally across the United States, as well as multiple productions as part of the writing team of Lincoln & Schein. He has also written music and lyrics for multiple movie musicals, including the award-wining musical short Plus One. He also regularly collaborates with commercial pop vocalists as vocal coach, producer/music supervisor, and songwriter. Daniel is a proud AFM Local 802 and Dramatist Guild Member, ASCAP Composer.

Jennifer Lin, Accompanist

Jennifer Lin is an American Music Director, pianist and composer. She was a student of the Yamaha Music Education System (YMES), the Junior Original Concert program, and University of California, Los Angeles.

She found her major introduction to the public at large when a recording of her inspirational improv performance at the TED conference in Oldsmar, Florida on February 27, 2004, was posted on TED.com in August 2006. She was 14 years old at the time.

She has performed for Oprah and The Daily Show, among others. On The Oprah Winfrey Show, she composed a piece on the spot with five random music notes that Oprah chose. Ms. Lin’s full resume may be found at jenlinmusic.com.
