Sean Stanton's distinguished career in the opera world showcases his talents as a singer, clinician, and educator. He has performed leading roles with esteemed companies such as Central City Opera (CO), Opera North (NH), Opera on the James (VA), Opera Southwest (NM), and Opera Steamboat (CO). Sean's unique repertoire, which includes the West Coast Premiere of Two Remain (Heggie), the role of Sam in Trouble in Tahiti, and his portrayal of Horace Tabor in The Ballad of Baby Doe and Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly, highlights his exceptional artistic prowess. His performances in Mozartian roles, such as Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, and Publio in La Clemenza di Tito, are particularly noteworthy.
He earned numerous accolades on the competition circuit, including the prestigious Lola Fletcher Award from the American Opera Society and awards from James Toland Vocal Arts, the New York Lyric Opera Theatre, Classical Singer, the Bel Canto Foundation, and the Luminarts Cultural Foundation. Sean won 1st place in the Chicago, Illinois, and Central Region NATS competitions. Sean has appeared in masterclasses with artists such as Sherrill Milnes, Renée Fleming, Dame Emma Kirby, and John Wustman.
Before relocating to Los Angeles, Sean was a member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus, Chicago Symphony Chorus, and Grant Park Chorus. He also served as a teaching artist in Music of the Baroque's Strong Voices outreach program.
In addition to his performance career, Sean is a dedicated educator and clinician. He is a certified Informatics Rehabilitation QiGong Healer through the Master Zhao Institute in Freemont, CA, and he completed RYT 200 through Yoga Alliance. He has delivered interactive presentations on Qi Gong (life force energy) for Singers at institutions such as the University of Southern California, the University of New Mexico, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Classical Singer, and the Central Region NATS Conference.
Sean is a doctoral candidate at the University of Southern California, where he is the head teaching assistant in Vocal Arts and studies with Professor Lynn Helding.
Timothy Wong is an active collaborator and solo pianist. He has won numerous prizes, among them, the First Place in the Osaka International Music Competition in Japan, and First Place in the Hong Kong Youth Music Open Competition. Timothy is regularly invited to perform on international stages, among them a concert hosted by the
Development and Alumni Affairs Office at The University of Hong Kong in 2020 and a solo recital at Loughborough Emmanuel Church (UK) in 2018. In Summers of 2022 and 2024, he was selected as one of the nine Collaborative Piano fellows at Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California.
Timothy received his Bachelor of Arts from The University of Hong Kong, where he was a recipient of the Ho Wing Hing Talent Fund. He recently completed his Master of Music and Performer’s Diploma in Collaborative Piano at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, with an Artistic Excellence Award and a Graduate Assistantship. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Keyboard Collaborative Arts at USC Thornton School of Music,
Timothy holds a Teaching Assistantship and the Gwendolyn Koldofsky Scholarship. His teachers include Jean Barr, Margo Garrett, Alan Smith, Futaba Niekawa, Kevin Murphy and Anne Epperson.
