Mezzo-soprano Susan Wong maintains a private studio producing many young performers and competition winners in both Classical Voice and Musical Theater. She encourages her students to think outside the box, work hard, and have fun during the learning process. Teaching singers of all ages, but specializing in the K-12 age group, Susan seeks to inspire a love of music and singing in her students, and to empower them to share that joy with others.

Susan is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and has been a Board Member of the Los Angeles Chapter for many years, as Chairperson of their annual Student Evaluation Program, and also as President and Past-President. She has served as the Program Chair for the Music Teachers' Association of California (Orange Coast Cities Branch), and Chair of their Theme, and Contemporary Festivals. Currently, she is their Baroque Festival Chair, and the Voice Chair of their Certificate of Merit Program. Additionally, she was the Vocal Chair of the Musical Arts Competition of Orange County for multiple seasons, a member of the Professional Opera Singers' Association, and presently assists annually with Pacific Symphony’s Opera Focus Vocal Competition. In 2015, together with several colleagues, she founded the Vocal Organization of California, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to create performance opportunities for student singers.

Susan has degrees from the University of Southern California, California State University Long Beach, and Phillips Graduate University.
